THE NORTH TEXAS SUSTAINABLE SHOWCASETHURSDAY, JULY 13, 2017
2000 E Spring Creek Pkwy, Plano, TX 750749:00 AM - 5:00 PM
About this EventIntegrative design is a process that serves as the foundation to take us to the next and multiple levels beyond sustainability. True sustainability considers far more than siting, materials and efficiency. Designers, clients, and communities can be informed and inspired by engaging and integrating with the larger place, its culture, and the role it serves in the larger living system— in other words, the whole living ecosystem. This workshop will explain what integrative systems thinking is, how and why it works, and how to merge these concepts with your existing work.
Presenter: Bill Reed, AIAAn internationally recognized proponent and practitioner in sustainability and regeneration Bill is a principal in two firms, the Integrative Design Collaborative and Regenesis Group, Inc. – green building consulting, living system design, and education organizations working to lift building and community planning into full integration and co-evolution with living systems. His work centers on creating the framework for and managing an integrative, whole-systems design process. The objective: to improve the overall quality of the physical, social and spiritual life of our living places and therefore the planet.
