RESET Air Certification Standard

July 9th, 2020

Online meeting

3:00 PM - 4:00 PM

About the Event:

This presentation is a comprehensive introduction to the RESET Air Certification Standard. Attendees will learn of the importance of healthy indoor air quality (IAQ) and why IAQ monitoring has become a focal point for building owners, organizations, institutes, and other green building certification programs. The presentation will explain the major culprits that contribute to poor IAQ and demonstrate the impacts IAQ has on human health, business prosperity, healthcare costs, employee retention and absenteeism. The session will put into context the critical need for robust and reliable IAQ monitoring standards, providing solutions, tools and guidelines that will assist project teams with their healthy IAQ pursuits. It will also provide insight on how RESET Air contributes to other building and product certification programs so that project teams can leverage their IAQ efforts as efficiently as possible

Prerequisite Knowledge: None

Qualifies for 1 Hour AIA HSW CEU

Learning Objectives

  1. Understand the history, background, and intent of the RESET Air Certification Standard and how it is applied to both Commercial Interiors (CI) and Core and Shell (C&S) projects.
  2. Examine the major culprits of poor IAQ including Temperature (T), Humidity (H), Particulate Matter (PM), Carbon Dioxide (CO2) and Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) and how the RESET Air Certification is focused specifically on IAQ performance outcomes, being agnostic in its approach to building type, age, location, utilization, etc.
  3. Examine how the RESET Air Certification’s mandatory IAQ transparency visualization disclosure requirement creates:
    a. A documented due diligence data trail of compliance with recognized Best Standards of Care for all Stakeholders to access (Liability),
    b. Increased trust between Tenant Businesses and Building Owners. Tenant Businesses have conspicuous continuous visual proof, through third-party independent verification, that the spaces they occupy are being continuously optimized for their prosperity. (Verification that Building Owner is fulfilling Lease IAQ Commitments, Maximized Business Prosperity, Employee Retention, Lower Healthcare Costs, Lower Absenteeism),
    c. Increased trust by Employees that Employers care about their wellbeing via conspicuous continuous visual proof of third-party independent verification of space health optimization (Maximized Business Prosperity, Employee Retention, Lower Healthcare Costs, Lower Absenteeism).

  4. Recognize how RESET Air contributes to other above-minimum-code certification programs including WELL, LBC, LEED and Fitwel.
