About the Event

DSD bioswaleWhy Green Infrastructure

Slow it. Spread it. Sink it! That's what all the properties you'll tour have in common. They use, or will use, green infrastructure to treat stormwater runoff for quality and quantity. Often hidden in plain sight, the green infrastructure features include bioretention (rain gardens), bioswales, cisterns, permeable pavement, and a conceptual green roof. And all are in the SA 2030 District!

What you'll see

  • onceptual bioswale at River Authority’s Sheridan BuildingFunctional, attractive, drought-tolerant, and diverse landscapes with creative uses of native plants, retaining walls and cisterns
  • A dated, highly impervious site and conceptual plans to represent Bexar  County's crossroads of eco-regions through green infrastructure zones
  • Placemaking -- with green stormwater infrastructure!
