Webinar: Energy Star Portfolio Manager & Benchmarking

About This Event: 

Energy Star Portfolio Manager (ESPM) is a key tool for benchmarking energy consumption developed by DOE which is in wide use these days. The purpose of this presentation is to affirm its usefulness as the first step to reducing energy consumption in existing buildings by benchmarking their usage. Steve will show his training slides for a city initiative to comply with Houston’s Decarbonization Policy for city buildings adopted this year. In addition, one of the portfolio buildings is a perfect example of how ESPM indicated a problem, and the subsequent retro-commissioning project to correct the problem shows us what kind of energy and energy costs are at stake.

About the Speaker:

Steve Stelzer serves as the Program Director for the City of Houston's Code Enforcement Green Building Resource Center. Steve offers green building strategies to plans brought in by the public, develops and maintains green strategy displays and education programs, and coordinates the green building web portal for the City of Houston website.
