About the Topic:
Austin Independent School District has become an incubator for green schools among K-12 school districts by advancing and formalizing green building design and sustainable operations into district-wide standards. The results of this accomplishment are an anticipated 60 LEED and/or AEGB certified green buildings, most of which are made possible through the 2017 and 2022 bond programs.
Join us for a panel discussion of the district's goals and strategies for constructing healthy, efficient and innovative facilities; recent energy study results from newly constructed schools; and successes and lessons learned along the way.
Speakers:
Darien Clary - Director of Sustainability, Austin Independent School District
Lauren Rochell - Architect & Senior Sustainability Associate, Center for Maximum Potential Building Systems
Ricardo Troncoco, P.E - President, ACR Engineering
