About this Event
METROCON is the largest not-for-profit [501(c)6], self-produced, volunteer-driven, design specification-focused regional expo and conference in the USA. The annual event introduces new products and ideas to the region’s community of Interior Designers, Architects, Specifiers, Facility Managers, Real Estate Professionals, Students & other Essential Industry Members catering to the built environment.
On Thursday (August 8th), the keynote presentation Smart Buildings, Smart Cities and their Effect on Design will be provided by Paul Doherty, President and CEO of The Digit Group Inc. Jessica Cooper, IWBI’s Chief Commercial Officer will provide a keynote on Friday (August 9th) that features the intersection of heath, design, and bottom line titled WELLness is Universal.
Education
There are also more than 40 more hours of continuing education hours available and classes are filling up fast. The many education offerings include topics such as: Materials, Products & Furniture Insights with A&D Resource Coordinators, Responsible Design: Incorporating Factors of Ergonomics and Wellness in the Workplace, Community Action for Healthier Materials, and many more. Keynote Speakers
Paul Doherty is a senior Fellow of the Design Futures Council, a former member of the International Facility Management Association (IFMA) Board of Directors and an IFMA Fellow. Paul is an award-winning architect, author, educator, analyst and advisor to Fortune 500 organizations, global government agencies, prominent institutions and the most prestigious architectural, engineering and contracting firms in the world. Paul's current work is focused on Smart Cities real estate developments operating in several countries and throughout the USA.
Jessica Cooper is Chief Commercial Officer at the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI), the work of Jessica Rose Cooper, WELL AP, NCIDQ, LEED AP ID+C brings health-focused design and policy solutions to diverse buildings and human environments around the globe. Jessica bridges the analytical and the creative to help clients both quantify the value of healthy buildings and develop technical solutions for implementing the WELL Building Standard. Jessica is a WELL Faculty and one of the first WELL Accredited Professionals, having earned her credential in 2015. A LEED Accredited Professional since 2008, Jessica also holds a certificate in Green Professional Building Skills Training: Construction Management. Jessica is a licensed interior designer and holds an NCIDQ Certificate.
