SOUTH: GARCIA STREET FARM FAMILY FUN DAY AND TREE PLANTING
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 29, 2020Garcia Street Urban Farm
218 Garcia Street, San Antonio TX 78203
1:00 PM - 3:00 PM
Please join us on the farm for an afternoon of tree and vegetable planting. We will also be building and amending garden beds and repairing irrigation lines. Seasoned gardeners, those interested in learning about urban farming, and everyone in between are welcome. No skills or experience required. This is a family-friendly event – there will be snacks, refreshments, activities for kids.
If you have them, please bring your own water bottle, gardening gloves, and a blanket to relax on under the ol’ pecan tree.
The city of San Antonio has been challenged to plant 30,000 trees this year as part of the Compassion Tree Project. Trees at the farm will be counted towards this goal and will provide fresh produce for students and community members for years to come.
Please call 210-486-0417 or email sac-ecocentro@alamo.edu with questions.
