About the Tour:

The Headwaters at the Comal is undergoing the grand metamorphosis from a 16-acre industrial utility site into a premier education center inspiring hearts and minds on the importance of conservation to community.  The project is a legacy for the Texas Hill Country and represents a strong partnership between New Braunfels Utilities, the Headwaters at the Comal non-profit, and the community.

The approximately quarter mile tour along decomposed granite paths will wind through the restored savanna prairie, overlook the historic cistern protecting the headwater springs of the Comal River and along the improved riparian path of Comal spring run #4 and Blieders Creek.

Tour will end at the covered pavilion which was repurposed in phase I.  Hear about the efforts to use Low Impact Development principles, One Water practices and adaptive re-use to transform the rest of this unused warehouse and facilities property into a nature-oriented premier education center for the region.
