The Mobile Experience Center (MEC) is a mobile trailer that goes out to the community and provides direct education on sustainable living and green building practices including energy efficiency, water conservation, safe and environmentally friendly household chemicals and personal care products, how to chose and take care of your heating, ventilation and air conditioning, rain barrels, and more. This overview shares the intent and details of this initiative.

The concept is to take the USGBC Texas Chapter’s education and mission “on-the-road” to many locations or venues, with the vision of reaching and educating new audiences, including but not limited to, local businesses, government officials, facility planners, students, parents, teachers, as well as designers, builders, remodelers and contractors in the building and construction industry.  We want to help consumers be educated consumers and save money while being environmentally friendly and sustainable.

If you are interested in having the MEC visit your school, workplace or organization, please fill out request form or reach out to Mike Brown.

NEXT STEPS for the MEC

The next key steps for the MEC is to put final touches on build out, solicit volunteers and regional coordinators and schedule events for 2020. Please consider helping out in some way -- donate a product or service, volunteer, sponsor, help spread the word via social media and flyers.
